What is a Sword Frog? A sword frog is a piece of leather used to hang the sword from the belt. At the same time, the frog offers protection to the uniform from the metal fasteners connecting the sword sling or sabre chain to the sword's scabbard.
What's a Sword Knot? The sword knot is a decorated length of cord and tassel used to secure your hand to the sword's hilt.
What's the Sam Browne Belt? The Sam Browne Belt was crafted by its namesake after he lost his left arm during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He needed an extra belt crossing over his right shoulder to keep the primary belt and frog from moving. The Marine Corps still use the Sam Browne Belt today.
Sling or Chain? The US Marines Corps uses a sling to fasten to the sword's scabbard, while US Army uses the chain to fasten to the sabre's scabbard.
